I haven't unfortunately. Do you like the original version? How do you feel about the way the songs were treated for the musical?

It's amazing! The recording of No one But You is available as a free download off tinterweb, which is how i got it. I just had a look for it again but I can't find it. If I find it i'll post the link!!! Have a search. And I thought in general the songs were pretty good in the musical, but it annoyed me that they never sang the whole of Don't Stop Me Now, they just kind of start it and then stops. I thought they'd go back to it later and do the whole thing but they didn't :'( that's one of my favourites!

Yes! I absolutely love her voice! Have you heard her singing I Dreamed A Dream? The Video is on YouTube somewhere - it's the best version I've ever heard

And no I haven't heard her singing I Dreamed A Dream, I'll have to have a look!! xxx
pianist5000
After watching that I ended up singing it in Biology as a kind of duet with a friend laugh.gif

She's a lovely person too, I met her at the Stage Door when I saw Wicked and I'm planning on SD-ing again when I go to her comeback show in December happy.gif

Part of me doesn't want her to go back to Wicked but to do something else, I'd like to see her in Le Mis, but I doubt she's return to that.

Titanic is now, I think, my all-time favourite musical. I was a bit dubious about it when I found out they were doing it and there were lots of jokes about cardboard cut-out ice-bergs and large blue sheets rolleyes.gif , but it was sensative, respectful and extremely moving, I cried practically the whole way through. There's never been a professional production of it in the UK, which is a real shame. I really urge anyone who gets the chance to see it to do so smile.gif

My friend sent me quite a lot of the Rent soundtrack recently, which I've been listening to and really liking, hoping to get my hands on the film some time soon biggrin.gif

I saw titanic by an amateur drama group as well and it was fantastic! absolutely superb, i was in tears. It was very well done and would go see it again if I could.

Rent is awsome smile.gif Love the film.

biggrin.gif I just booked my tickets for Kerry's comeback date happy.gif That'll be the 3rd time I go hopefully, I'm planning on a trip in the summer to see the new Elphaba happy.gif

I just love Dianne Pilkington too (Glinda) when she teaches Elphie to 'Toss Toss!' I nearly died laughing! And then when Kerry imitates her laugh.gif It's the same when in What Is This Feeling? She says 'your voice' in an imitation of Dianne laugh.gif

Yeh! I saw Kerry and Dianne in March. Dianne's Popular was hilarious! I'd thought Kristin Chenoweth was good on the recording but Dianne's definately beats hers. I couldn't stop laughing the whole way through it. The 'Toss Toss' was brilliant! Boq got his lines mixed up when I went, I really shouldn't have know it inside out before I saw it really tongue.gif xxx
pianist5000
laugh.gif I knew quite a lot of the music before I went but I'm glad I didn't hear As Long As You're Mine as it was brilliant hearing it for the first time on stage happy.gif

&&& Dianne! She is totaly awesome happy.gif

If you get a chance type in 'Megan Hilty last popular' into youtube - it's hilarious! She was the NY Glinda and she really camps it up laugh.gif
maddielou_
Search youtube for last popular and watch kristen chenoweths (i can't spell!) last performance. It's hilarious and she adlibs loads. Fab!
Though the video quality is poor but never mind, smile.gif

It's quite far back before the vocals start, but the sequence leading up to it is quite fun to watch too.

I really, really want to go and see 'Wicked'! I've only ever seen 'Chicago' and 'Guys and Dolls' (apart from school musicals), but there are loads more that I love, and want to go and see. I might start planning a trip to London in the summer with some of my friends .... biggrin.gif

As long as you realise that the lyrics are not the same in the originals, I'm happy about that! biggrin.gif We had to come up with entire band parts from that piano book because they don't publish a score sad.gif Luckily, I'm a Queen nut.

Oh yeah! Not a fan of his singing though, to be honest. I love the verse that Roger Taylor sings wub.gif

I LOVE musicals. I think a person has serious happiness issues if you can't smile at a musical. I mean who doesn't love a flying car or a giant man eating plant?!

Favourite musicals: Wicked, Phantom, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Rent, We Will Rock You, Sound of Music, Drowsy Chaperone - actually I love them all!

The only musical i detest with passion is High School Musical! Absolutely awful, it gives musical theatre a bad name!!

Agree with the above post a lot.

I sometimes wish life was a musical. Theres always a happy ending in musicals..well not always, but theres a lot of singing and that makes up for it smile.gif
