how far between are the abrsm exams? just wonderin, o and can u giv a brief dscriptn o the lessons???

It differs from person to person. For me, it's about 18 months to 2 years.
People usually take exams when they are ready. There is no set time between.
In the UK there are 3 exam sessions in each year.
As for lessons, to some extent it depends on the teacher as individual teachers have their own style of teaching.
You would normally expect to be learning how to play your instrument, how to read music (and theory in general) and some aural training.
You would usually have something set to work on each week which the teacher will listen to at the next lesson and help with any difficulties.
