The Old Lady
In the light of the Eye Candy thread being fairly popular, who were your heart throbs from when you were young/younger??
My first one was David Cassidy when I was about 10, followed by the Bay City Rollers( 14), ( OK OK, we can all make a mistake), then Bodie and Doyle in The Professionals ( 17 until................ well, Judge John Deed's still quite tasty tongue.gif )
My hubby liked Sussanah York in"The Battle of Britain", Gillian Anderson in the X Files, and Felicity Kendal in anything smile.gif
Over to you. rolleyes.gif

Ms.Fiddle
Erm,

Viggo Mortensen and Jason Isaacs I've been a fan of the pair of them since about 1995, met Viggo for the first time last week and Jason I've meet 9 or 10 times.
Karl Urban
Eric Bana
I used to really like Michael Biehn, not so much now.

...and my other half Simon of course who people always say looks like Johnny Depp. Have to give him a mention or he'll sulk.

Your Barry can't have Gillian Anderson - I saw her first! And I have the entire X Files series on DVD so there. wacko.gif

My first, when I was 14 (I was obviously a much later developer than you, Bev) was a singer called Ruby Murray (for those wanting more information have a look at the tribute website which I look after http:\\www.rubymurray.org ) blush.gif I was desperately in love with her. wub.gif
I would also walk barefoot over cut glass to get to Hannah Gordon. More recently Katie Melua does it for me...and then there was Beverley Craven, and Crystal Gayle, and...

In late teens it was 'Dave from Drop the Dead Donkey' aka Neil Pearson.

It proved one of those strange bonding moments about 'boys' with my Mother when I discovered that she felt the same way.......worrying!

Now if we were similar age then those might well be my choices.

Seeing I'm much younger I couldn't possibly know who they are tongue.gif

As a teenager I had quite a crush on Robert Hardy (Manhunt was on at the time). Before that I also liked various footballers and popstars (remember Mickey Dolenz?).

More recently, the aforementioned Viggo Mortensen, and I also like James Masters, the guy who plays Spike in Buffy (much to my daughter's disgust - she much prefers Angel!).
Crotchetymum
Hmmm, this could be a long list.

James Mason being a baddie in The Wicked Lady or The Man in Grey (I think those were the titles), Oliver Tobias as Arthur of the Britains and I really liked Anthony Valentine as Raffles. And Clark Gable, particularly as Rhett Butler It's bad boys every time for me, I think sad.gif My sister and I used to love watching Stewart Granger buckling his swash (or swashing his buckle) - not to be beaten for great legs in tights biggrin.gif

Marc Bolan, David Bowie and J J Cale.

maggiemay
oh, Anthony Valentine - he wasn't bad!

Steve Mcqueen

Michael Jayston
( wub.gif as Mr Rochester in Jane Eyre)
Jazz Chicken
Hugh Jackman, and his new film (Wolverine) is out in a couple of weeks. May have to get myself to the pictures to see this. wub.gif

Spike is much better than Angel! Angel has a square head. Also, is mopey and insufferable. tongue.gif Oz wins out over all other Buffy men though.

Does anyone get the feeling I might be a little too invested in a cancelled TV show.

As for heart throbs, I remember when I was twelve I had a thing for Simon from Blue. (I was young...) Not too long after that it was Orlando Bloom. tongue.gif
ellie_the_little_elephant
Mine (when I was 16 or so, in the early 1990s) was Benjamin Britten. I am entirely serious! blush.gif It probably says a lot about me...

I think we're probably in very good company. I remember Pat Macnee saying that, when Diana Rigg announced she was leaving The Avengers, he and all the other males in the cast and crew were devastated. He said they were all head over heels in love with her. I can understand that entirely! biggrin.gif wub.gif

I think I rather preferred Honor Blackman. Very tasty! But then I am probably older than you. (I expect a certain forumite will now call her a Tart as well smile.gif . I don't care, I know which ladies my heart throbs for tongue.gif ). Mmm, I also had it bad for Natalie Wood (especially in Gypsy) (now she really was a tart!), Sharon Stone (ditto) and the lady with the black shawl in the original Scottish Widows commercial (she never spoke a word, but I can see her now - and I am all of a dither at the way she looked at me. Such elegance.)

I'm going to have to stop now and get a glass of cold water.

Holz Gedeckt
Oooh! Sharon Stone. wub.gif Basic Instinct has been on no less than twice in the last couple of weeks! biggrin.gif

I remember Honor Blackman in the film 'A boy, a girl, and a bike'. They finished up throwing a perfectly good bike over Malham Cove - what a waste!

But Amanda Lamb has been in that advert since 1994! I wonder how long ago Gedall means?

As a teenager, many of the New Romantic men, but especially David Sylvian - swoon!

I had a giant poster of John Travolta up that I used to kiss goodnight every evening! Then I got into Adam Ant smile.gif

Cyrilla had the most remarkable poster of Robert Redford (a still from Butch Cassidy) in her room. It STILL makes me swoon just thinking about it....

Fortunately for me the question in the title of this thread does not state how old you have to be to have a heart throb biggrin.gif

I didn't know her name was Amanda Lamb, and on doing some surfing I have found that

(i) yes it was her that I swooned over

(ii) I much preferred her then than she is now.

(iii) She took over from Roger Moore's daughter.

Oh dear, cold water (shower?) time again, I fear.

For me it was Paul Newman from BC and the Sundance Kid (though Robert Redford was a close second), and Ben Murphy from Alias Smith and Jones. But then I always thought that Ben Murphy looked a bit like Paul Newman, so that would explain that. And somebody mentioned Steve McQueen.... wub.gif And at the moment I'm watching High Plains Drifter and thinking that there has to be room on the list for a youngish Clint.
