Hello Everyone! I don't really know where to post this so I'll borrow some space in this forum. I came upon a melody (I think it's an OST from some movie in the late 80's or possibly early 90's) but couldn't really recall where I heard it before and it irks me somewhat. Any movie soundtrack buff out there who might know? biggrin.gif

I'll try to write it out:

c-b-d*-c-e---- c-b-d*-c-e-f--- c-b-d*-c-e*---- d*-e*-a-b-#f----

The '-' represents a beat, the underline means one below c, the "*" means one above c, and the #f means f-sharp.

Does it sound familiar to anyone?

no idea what it is, though.

Thanks much to River for generating the graphic. Wow - very cool. Actually I might've been wrong to call that a "theme" or "melody." It's probably more like a phrase. An 8-measure melody will repeat the first 3 bars with the ending bar having d-e (I think it's called an imperfect cadence)....

Yes - it does sound a bit like Some Enchanted Evening, especially the opening! When I heard it, it's first played by strings (orchestral) and then repeated by a piano. I'm not hopeful that this will get an answer but thank you anyway. smile.gif
