Hi,
I'm preparing for my Piano performance Dip.ABRSM , and am wondering if there are any books out there that develop your sight reading? For example, I know there are sight reading books for grades 1-8 that actually train you in difference aspects (rhythm, 6 sharps, extreme high notes etc.)
thanks

Personally I'd get hold of a pile of ABRSM anthologies at Grade 6 as these are the sort of thing you'll get for the Quick Study.

Hey exile,
I'm also preparing for DipABRSM Piano, and have found two books which tackle the Quick Study component of the exam. I found both of them on musicroom.com, and they cost less than £10 each.
'Quick Study Practice for Piano Diploma Exams (DipABRSM, LRSM, FRSM)' by Josephine Koh, published by Wells Music Publishers ISBN 981-05-5205-X.
This is based closely on the ABRSM diploma syllabus requirements, and has numerous examples of complete short pieces of the appropriate standard for each level of diploma, along with several hints on interpretation for each example, and a general step-by-step guide to approaching the test.
'Sight Reading for Today - Grade 8 to Diploma' by Joan Last, published by Bosworth, ISBN 1-84609-590-5.
This is more like a traditional sight reading book, with 25 short extracts to practice, designed to bridge the gap between Grade 8 and Diploma.
Hope these help.
