I'm going to hit Tesco, gallop over to my mother's with her supplies, and then settle down for the weekend to watch the snow fall and make use of the time playing the piano interspersed with tidying up (early spring cleaning). OH doesn't know it, but I'm going to persuade him to do the cooking.

I'm going to snuggle in an armchair with a cup of tea and read for a bit.

Clear out a drawer - part of my Spring cleaning that I don't usually do.

I've decided we have so much stuff out on surfaces, that the drawers and cupboards must be full of stuff we never use and can therefore be thrown away. This will be my first attempt to sort things out.

Boil an egg. The dog has just eaten the pork joint which was intended for Sunday evening roast. It was still raw, too. I suppose one day we will remember that she pinches everything she can reach and she is a big dog!
I have told her that if she has the most tremendous indigestion it is her own fault and I am not running up the vet's bill. She will just have to get over it.

I Spring cleaned everything in my flat apart from the bathroom and bedrooms.

Off to Tesco again.

Bought some fruit and veg for my mum last time. Left it in the car boot so that it wouldn't warm up too much in the house. Examined said fruit and veg this morning and discovered completely frozen bananas and lettuce. I think the spuds survived, and I hope the carrots have. I really didn't think it would get that cold inside the car boot which is tucked up almost into a conifer tree.

So much to do I don't know where to start...

Rehearsal went ok, ended up on third clari - people not showing up...... so spent a lot of the time playing looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong notes, missed playing the twiddly parts of 1st (or 2nd). Actually going to have a serious think about continuing with that band or seeing about moving into the main concert band...

It depends if you still feel that you are learning much from it.
And possibly if you are of use in supporting some less experienced people if you enjoy doing that.

mmm, some weeks I think I've learnt something but honestly not very often now, as for supporting, well, we only have 4 claris anyway - 2 on 1st, 1 on 2nd and 1 on 3rd, the other 1st plays in sax in the main band and only plays in this because previously no one wanted to move from 2nd. There really isn't anyone to support at the moment.

Hello bagpuss. I have two Bagpussies!

Just keep your eyes closed throughout the surgery and you'll never know what's going in your mouth. That's the coping strategy I developed when I became scared of dentists.

My car has been picked up to have some supermarket car park rashes treated (I reckon I got clocked by a push chair hitting the bumber and taking the paint down to the plastic and scraped the wheel arch). Should be back at lunch time then I can put it up for sale

Car shopping is my favourite hobby Keep thinking about buying either a XJS, a Jaguar Mk.2 / Daimler 250 V8, a TR6 or a Rover Vitesse (SD1 petrol injected V8 jobbie)

I used to own a three wheeled Reliant Robin. I suppose you could define them as 'classic cars' if you take away the stigmas and Clarksony ignorance! (and they're as quintisentially English as the Mini or Rolls Royce, Morgan etc)

Well, my nice Merc Coupe has to go unfortunately (before anyone thinks I'm a plutocrat - it was 2nd hand, and no more expensive than replacing my then 8 year old Focus). I drive 22,000 a year, of which 15,000 is just going to the office and back, so comfort is important.

I finally qualified for a company car last year, so I have a VW Passat CC GT sitting on the drive (most people in other companies in similar roles would have got there 15 years ago - my company is not overly generous to its IT staff....).

I have to say that the CC is very nice - running something like an old Jag or Daimler would bankrupt me on the fuel bills alone! At GBP90 per week it's killing me as it is If the housing market was better, I'd seriously consider moving much nearer to the office, even though that would mean downsizing (the whole reason I moved to Shropshire is that south Cheshire is very expensive).

haha, on the Merc, my mum drives a Mercedes SL (old 80's square shape) with a V8 of course, They are indeed very comfortable I think new cars are a waste of money but there you go, thats me!

As far as fuel bills go, I fill up and go until it almost runs out and think to myself I had a full tank erm, yesterday wheres it gone, oh well and repeat process. Don't add up fuel bills, thats the answer!

Must admit, I do want to move to a bigger house in a couple of years, I would love to have some land and a proper workshop. Working from home is a bit eeeeew at times as sometimes you feel like you're NEVER away from it!

Car's back from its paint job. I've not used one of the mobile paint companies before (he actually took it to the workshop in Wrexham rather than doing it on the drive because of the threat of rain).

Fab job - front bumper is really good and he touched up various small things so it looking nice. Not expensive either.

My last free day before Easter...

I've not used a mobile guy before but used to sell cars for a main dealer who did. Lucikly I know two body shops one that'll do a full spray job for ?350 ... and one that is much more expensive but absolutely excellent

Thanks for the advice but I am not afraid of the dentist. My dentist is drop-dead gorgeous. But I AM a dental-phobic and as such no amount of shutting my eyes etc would make any difference at all. So it's the magic, happy drug for me.

Am going to have a quiet evening now as lousy work tomorrow then a 6-week run to Easter. Doom.
