I guess it depends on where u took the exam etc!

I am from the UK... my exam was on the 29th! I guess I have just been unfortunate. I haven't taken an exam for ages but I don't remember them taking this long before. Over three weeks!

I presume they send the results first class? I just want to know what I got

Mine took just over three weeks this time, so I bet yours will arrive soon.

Phew! I'm glad I am not the only one whose results took a while. I was beginning to think there was a problem or they got lost in the post. It's the first flute exam I've ever done so I am really nervous about the result. Especially as I haven't done a music exam in over 7 years!!!

In the summer my exam results took 3 1/2 weeks, so don't panic. Also remmeber that the post is quite slow at the moment due to Xmas. Good luck with the results though

I took my Piano Exam 18th November 1856!! (2004 really) and still haven't received my results. I wonder if the ABRSM may start issuing results via Email (to the teachers)?
Best Regards,

Craig - this does seem to be unusually long - you are in the UK aren't you?
It might be worth contacting the board to find out if your results have been posted yet. It is the silly season for post after all... it's just possible they have gone astray, but let's hope not!

That's a really good idea, if we enter online it should be possible for them to send us the results by email.
I have a feeling that when the online entry scheme was set up, it was going to be an option for the future to view your pupils' past exam results online. But this hasn't been set up yet.

My son took his Piano exam on 9th December, so possibly we won't get the results before Christmas.
Craig, yours have taken such a long time I do wonder if they have gone astray. It might be worth a quick check.
Good luck Sara-flute, Craig, and everyone else still waiting.

SO RELIEVED!
Got my results this morning... I got a distinction! 136. I am really pleased. I thought I would get a merit, thought I *might* manage a respectable merit, and had vague hopes of scraping a distinction by the skin of my teeth - I never thought I'd get a really good distinction and I am so very pleased. My friend who accompanied me happened to pop by less than 5 mins after I got them, and I was literally shaking! The first flute exam I've ever taken, besides my A-Level recital, so a badly needed confidence boost!
WOOOOHOOOO!
(and my friend got 133 in his G6 clarinet, after thinking he might have got a merit, and feeling he'd be grateful to have passed!)

it was grade 4... the first flute exam I've ever done (I've been learning for years but mostly self-taught) and the first practical exam in 7 or 8 years.
I did do my a-level recital on flute about 7 years ago - had to have 6 months intensive lessons with a really great teacher to get myself up to standard for that - but I never *had* to do scales, except for one or two that my previous teacher (who I had for a year) made me learn, so I am really behind with my scales. I was glad when I looked that G5 doesn't have too many more than G4 so I think I'll be better prepared for my scales next time round... I plan to do G5 in the summer... we'll see!
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO chuffed still... that's the highest grade I've ever had in a practical exam!

My teacher rang up the AB a few days ago to see where my results were and she said that they are a few weeks behind on sending the results out

awww that's not good... I hope you find out soon. I am kinda surprised... you'd have thought they would try and do them quickly with the postal rush that comes before Christmas! but I guess if they have a lot of exams that need checking then sometimes you're bound to get behind

congratulations on the exam, getting a better mark than you thought you would is always really nice, and 136 is a really good distinction!
