Hiya - I've been learning jazz for a few years - I got distinction for all the AB grades myself, have taught grade 1/2 for a couple of years, and just finished Tim Richard's course at Morley (debating doing it again next year). I've done a few other courses too (the basic AB one for teachers like me, a Mike Garrick course...way over my head but fun! Premises with Tim) We just did a number with a drummer and bassist for the end of term and I loved it and would like to do more - any suggestions?

There's a 1-day course coming up for pianists on the 27th with Liam Noble (and there are places still available I believe).

I suspect the ideal situation for you now would be to get onto a regular workshop type course of the sort I do every Saturday. We have a 4-piece rhythm section (piano, bass, guitar, drums) and 4 horns and work together as a band to develop technique and repertoire. Unfortunately for you we're a) in SE London and b) currently have a pianist, so no vacancies. I believe there are similar things going on in Richmond and potentially elsewhere in London, though I don't know of any in North London. If I here of anything I'll let you know.
