A friend is looking for a string quartet/trio for a wedding in London in July and wondered about a student group from one of the colleges of music. Does anyone know of any he could contact?

Not really a Dip topic is it?

All the London conservatoires have a link on their websites about hiring students for functions. You can compare prices etc.

good luck

Try this quartet:

I know the viola player personally (taught her from the age of 4 at school - still remember the day she came in clutching her first tiny violin after her very first lesson... happy.gif ).

Thanks for all your replies - am asking on behalf of a friend and will pass these on to him.

No, not really a dip topic but there didn't really seem to be a better one for possibly finding some able players who might do this sort of thing so thanks for your forbearance.

this is a cello quartet which are brilliant, all quite young and play a variety of music.

Thanks, Trammie.

Might not be a diploma question, but I can understand why OP posted here.

Hope the wedding goes really well.

My daughter had a string quartet play at her wedding last year. She found them herself (ie not people I personally knew) and I thought they were pretty good. London area. I will ask her to send me a link.
