This Saturday promises to be a mostly dry, bright and warm day - perfect for a day trip to York!
Exploring Britain's favourite small city is something we can all enjoy, from visiting the big attractions of York Minster, the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Museum to discovering the small snickleways off the cobbled streets.
Why don't you turn your Saturday into a fabulous day out, shopping, sight-seeing and exploring? When you've caught your breath in Betty's tea rooms or grabbed a bite to eat in one of York's many caf?s, pubs or restaurants, finish off the perfect day with a Spring Concert with the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra!
At the bottom of the Museum Gardens lies the church of St Olave (pronounced Olive) where we will be performing a varied selection of wind music, some old favourites and some to be performed for the first time by the orchestra. Holst, Horovitz, Grainger, Whitacre and Hess will all make an appearance in the programme.
The concert starts at 7pm with doors open at 6:30pm so you can get your tickets on the door (subject to availability). If you can't wait, you can buy your tickets now online at www.yorkshirewinds.co.uk priced ?10 (standard), ?8 (concession) and ?5 (student). There is FREE entry for accompanied under 16's (1 per paying adult).
Marygate car-park is situated around the corner from the church, just off Bootham, where you can park all day or after 6pm for just ?2 so fill your car with friends and come and have a great day out!
Hope to see you there!
