Nobody writes PMs to me

I won't say nobody ever sends me one, but they are very few. In fact I've only ever cleared out my inbox once.

Never mind - from what I've heard of what goes on behind the scenes we are probably saved an awful lot of angst.

Actually, I do get a PM occasionally. They have all been (so far) pearls of wisdom from very nice people.

Mine too, but I gather others are not always so lucky.

I always dread a PM in case it's a MOD telling me off!

I had a hubby clean my study recently and wonder of wonders I can still find things! (was mainly his and the kids detrititis he removed!)

You should not be so popular and such an expert on such an interesting field Cyrilla. Either that or the mods need to double your storage area.

Hmm, I actively discourage them. Apart from information about myself best not make searchable by the rest of the internet, I tend to think that if I'm not prepared to put it out into the centre of the forum, then I probably shouldn't be writing it at all...

What I was actually going to write on this thread though, was that surely everyone liable to have a full inbox, is now going to have to periodically check it to see if they're 'at fault'... in which case they might as well check their inbox periodically?!

If you want to give your phone number/contact details to a member your not going to do it on the public forum though!

Yup, exactly. That definitely counts as "information not suitable for making searchable on the internet"! Although, that said, by being on the electoral roll, and not having ticked the right box, its possible for anyone to find your address and telephone number via the internet anyway!

They wouldn't get my phone number that way. I wouldn't put it on the electoral roll. I was asked when buying something online the other day for my phone number and it was a compulsory field so I typed 0000 and it accepted that. If that had failed I would have made one up in the right format!

Update: Babybird 2 has just graciously and charitably sent me a PM to boost my self esteem. Ironically, my inbox is now full!
