I recently bought a CD of Marie-Claire Alain playing 17 of her father's organ pieces. I am greatly enamoured with many of them and am now searching for the music. His opus numbers go beyond 400 although they were not all organ pieces I am sure. It is proving difficult to locate shops that stock Albert's music, so I am hoping some of you may have some inspired suggestions for me. Banks have the 'Six Pieces' and not much else whilst Blackwell's say they have absolutely nothing.

Of course, it can all be ordered through UMP but I need to browse through the many and various albums first. I have found a couple of things via free downloads but I should be grateful if any of you know a stockist in the UK.

Allegro Music would be well worth a try, and are easily found on the web.

We have also bought quite a lot from Omni Music in Edinburgh, (0131 558 8600) where the proprietors are very knowledgeable, and have always been able to supply music from stock, or else much more quickly than quoted (usually within three or four days).

Rang Allegro yesterday and, although they list quite a few of Albert's pieces/albums, they don't stock any of it. They say they only stock a tiny fraction of the 11,000+ titles they list which is understandable. Thank you for reminding me about Omni - I have brought from them before so I shall ring them later today. Wouldn't mind a trip up to Edinburgh!
Vox Humana
There are one or two pieces in Les Maitres Contemporains de l'Orgue which is available in pdf format from the Sibley Music Library. Search on "Joubert".
