I am trying to convert 9/8 compound time to simple time. I know the time will change to 3/4 and to removed the dot from a dotted crotchet but after that I am stuck.
The bar in question has a dotted crotchet tied to a crotchet, the a quaver a crotchet and a quaver. Help would be much appreciated. I only hope this sort of question doesn't come up in the exam.

The hard bit is working out what the time signature will be and you've done that. Then split the notes into beats and work out what you have to do to get the same effect.
Dotted crotchet becomes crotchet
Three quavers becomes a triplet
two dotted quavers becomes two quavers.
It just has to sound the same afterwards.

Thanks Andante. What do I do though with a crotchet followed by a quaver?
