Before I get one on approval, was just wondering if anyone had tried the fagonello - and if so - any comments??

Is it an instrument? Composer? Title of a piece?

I too was not sure what it was although I did think it must be an instrument.
Basically, a baby bassoon - but non transposing - unlike minibasson or tenoroon

Sorry to say to Jacky, I have no experience of it so cannot contribute any useful comments. I have played a minibassoon for teaching a 7 year old and I did try out a tenoroon once when my bassoon teacher had one on loan for demonstration purposes at a school. They don't have a great tone but they are lighter weight and you can certainly begin to learn at an earlier age than you could with a full size bassoon.

Some sort of mini bassoon that comes in one piece and claims to be suitable from 5 years upwards. Ok I cheated and googled it tongue.gif

I see Louise H beat me to it laugh.gif

Looks interesting and seems to work well. But more expensive than a Howarth Mini or Tenoroon.

Ah well - will let you know next week when it arrives. DS is currently playing on a minibassoon - it would just be nice to have a bass instrument in ensembles and no more transposing!!!

Let us know how it goes! Sounds exciting and I think it sounds like a good option instead of the transposing instruments.
