My exam was 29th, so it's reassuring to know that others are still waiting too!
Sadly the way my mind works is that because my teacher knows I've failed he doesn't want to ring me and tell me! sad.gif

It's easy to understand, but try to be positve. Hope the result comes in pretty soon.

My exam will be on the 15th of may and on the 21rst the masterclass I will be joining starts. Maybe they will let me ask for the result during that week.
Right now I feel like there is a big chance of failing the exam this time.

Just got my result today from the 29th. Had convinced myself I'd failed as I made a complete mess of my B list piste. Every single long semiquaver passage had a stumble, got horribly out of time in one bit, but managed to relocate where I should be, and kept together with the pianist apart from that 1 bit. Result =24 for that piece. For the first time ever passed all sections of the exam, giving me a merit (think my teacher said 124).

In shock!
Breakdown A (Mozart) 25, B (Mouquet) 24, C (Wellesz) 27. Scales 16, Sight Reading 18, Aural, 14! Not got any comments as yet but could see that she filled the sheet!

Had no idea you could see the breakdown online - going back a bit since my last exam!

Misty Ping: in computing/gaming, increased latency due to noise on the line.

In my mind a triangle goes 'ting' (courtesy of Eddie Izzard in Definite Article, 4:57 into the video) - the triangle is also obsolete as you can just have a person saying 'ting', which in my mind would be more entertaining to watch.

Any percussionists want to sing the merits of the triangle, or alternatively just go 'ting' instead?

Congrats to fellow pianists on your great results!
I always feel its a greater challenge for us since we are required to play on a hithertofore unknown instrument (all other instrumentalists, except organists, get to play on their own well-known, well-beloved, well-banged-up instrument!)

My result for this session: grade 5 - 133 smile.gif

now gearing up for cello grade 6 in July!

I have just received my mark sheet and I thought you good people might like one of the comments....

For the aural test involving clapping back the rhythm I had to make it up because I had a mind blank and forgot the entire thing. The comment on the sheet was "somewhat experimental clapping" smile.gif

Thanks for the welcomes guys !

Time for a symbolic pre-order purchase of the new grade 5 book I think :-)

Have just returned from holiday to an answerphone message from my piano teacher saying I'd passed my G8 - I am ecstatic and amazed. I am 68 and was so nervous during the exam that I thought I'd messed it up big time and was extra nervous because my examiner was young enough to be my son! But here I am with G8 under my belt - wonderful!! I went back to playing the piano four years ago having passed my G5 when I was thirteen. My now teacher saw me through G5 theory, G6,G7 and now G8 - she is wonderful. I love the piano too and play endlessly for pleasure and am wondering what I can play next. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them. Congrats to all who have passed music exams this term - I know how you feel.

That's fabulous ..... and inspires me to keep going :-). Two pieces I'd love to play if I could move my fingers fast enough are Clare de Lune (I can 'play' the first two dozen bars but then madness ensues) and the third movement of the Moonlight (presto agitato). Through sheer doggedness and passion I've learned the first movement of moonlight and can play it reasonably well to my ears, which is a stretch above my grade 4 :-), but I haven't found the same passion for another piece yet (Clare de Lune would do but seems beyond me at present)...................
