I teach guitar and stick to a syllabus of mostly classical guitar and chords (rock and pop songs) I'm now thinking about broadening out my teaching into jazz and blues, but don't really know where to start. I can play jazz by ear myself, but I have never used any notated pieces.

Can anyone recommend any good material for any standard of player?

Many thanks

There are many books/tapes, instructional and pieces. They need to be browsed. Do you live within reach of Denmark Street off the Charing X road?

You'll be treated to some wonderful stretches and position changes. This is said to be why guitars styled for jazz have a smaller scale.

Yeah, I'm close to central london - but all the tutor books with CD's I've looked at haven't really appealed. They all look a bit cheesy and naff.

Can you recommend a title in particular?

looking forward to those stretches!

cheers for replying
