I used to show my students a rather nice orchestral version of the Grade 2 piano Gavotte on Youtube, but the video seems to have been changed to a private one. Anyone know of any other recordings? I can't find it on Spotify or iTunes - I don't want the piano version..

Help!

I was searching high and low on YouTube for that orchestral clip after someone mentioned it on here but I cannot find it at all, neither could the original poster. Hopefully we can hunt down the link, I'd love to show it to my students that are working on this Daquin piece.

This is the problem, I have the link, but now it's listed as 'private' and I can't access it any more. Is it on Spotify maybe? I can't find it, but maybe I haven't got the right title?

I've only heard the little sample on Amazon so far. Interesting - the running bass for the most part seems to be in straight quavers, though with an elegant mixture of slurs and unslurred, but the melody is in very gentle notes inegales, and it's only just about possible to hear what the bass does when they're together, but it seems to slip almost seamlesly into the same proportions as the melody. It seems a very short step from the kind of phrasing it plays as "straight" into that amount of inegales - anyway, it's lovely, I agree, and I'm just buying the mp3 almost as I type this and will play it to my grade 2's (and maybe everyone else as they come it) smile.gif

The slurred bit in the bass is nice, isn't it? Yes I shall be adding it to my iTunes collection shortly.
