Just wondering how other people spend their time practising on a given day.
Time spent. How you break it up. What you practice and general methods....
OK, sorry this is a bit of a quick reply, but I'll start you off:
About 15 minutes on technical work (on the harp, that means Grossi and Friou exercises)
About 15 minutes on scales, arpeggios, inversions, and exercises that help these sometimes
Then a quick break so my mind and hands don't get too tired. Usually have a drink etc!
Then another half an hour on pieces, usually split between my three exam pieces, or sometimes just two of them.
Then maybe something for "fun" - maybe a bash at something I can't play for orchestra, or something I fancy being able to play for fun - usually something at an easier level than the rest of the things I have been playing.
If I only have half an hour then I still do all of the above, but condensed.
I am aiming to do Grade 4 in the winter to give you some idea of my level.
Hope this helps and you get a good range of replies.
