I'm not directly connect with this band, but am always happy to publicise inclusive bands and orchestras, especially ones that improve people's sight-reading.
Information from their publicity person:
The Winslow Concert Band is a true community band, welcoming musicians of all ages and standards. It is made up of a very friendly group of players, and less experienced musicians get plenty of encouragement from more experienced members and from musical director Paul How. Members agree that their playing, especially their sight-reading, has improved since they joined, and the overall standard of the Band continues to progress.
We always welcome players of any age or playing ability (although we usually suggest grade 3 and above) to any section. However we are currently particularly keen to recruit players of the French horn, tuba (instrument available) and baritone sax.
The band meets on Thursday evenings at 7.30. Winslow is approximately 4.5 miles from Buckingham and 12 miles from Aylesbury).
