Yesterday was one of those days that I wish I could bottle and keep for hard times...

It was a bank holiday so I had the day off and ...

... the weather was gorgeous...

... we went out for breakfast in the local pasticceria - warm brioche and cappucino...

... then we went to a local market - one that I've never seen before as it's on a Wednesday when I'm normally at work. Found a stall selling lovely wool and bought 5 balls. When the nice stall holder wanted to know why I only wanted 1 of each colour and I told him it was for making dolls' clothes for charity, he added another 2 at no charge wub.gif

... had lunch in a little restaurant sittng outside and watching the world go past...

... spent the afternoon playing with my new purchases while hubby snoozed in the garden...

... then we walked down to the lakeside in the evening and watched the sun go down over a glass of wine and nibbles...

... came back via icecream shop and indulged in the national Italian passtime of sitting on the church steps eating icecream biggrin.gif

So nothing spectacular, but just a lovely day.

What are your perfect days?

A day in August 2010 when we were in Rouen briefly on the way home from summer hols.

It was warm enough to wear summer clothes and not carry a jacket. We wandered out into the city, went separate ways to potter for an hour or two, met up at the bar on the corner of the Vieux Marche for a coffee, wandered back and checked out, had a wonderful salad-y lunch sitting outside, before driving on to our next stopover, and a warm welcome at a favourite haunt of ours.

Nothing special really - just one of those days when the sun shines and there's almost no need to watch the clock.
