My wife has found an old Kodak Brownie 4A camera from early 60's. It still contains a film which has 12 pictures taken on it. Any experts out there who know whether this film is processable, I imagine theer will be specialist companies who would try, but with no guarantees!

I can't find evidence of the existence of a Brownie 4A. You can have a Brownie flash IV, or a Kodak Folding 4A (not a Brownie)...

It depends on the film type:
For a Brownie IV then it's 620 film then most decent photo shops will be able to have a go - if they look at it askance, you can tell them it's the same as 120/220 (current medium format film) just on a different spool size. I doubt you'd have much luck at Boots but certainly I reckon our local camera shop could do it (they do my 120s for me).

It looks like quite a few Brownies took 127 film. You can still get 127 film processed but it's harder to track people down to do it and is therefore that bit more expensive (easy enough to find people online - you won't be able to take it in to many if any shops though!)

Aha, a 44a takes 127 film - in theory a good photo processor should be able to do this, but in practice probably so few have been seen in a while it could be an internet job. If you do have a decent local camera shop, do go and talk to them as you may find Fred's been doing 127 for 40 years or some such
But, if you goolge for '127 film' you will find a lot of people wanting to help you out.
If it were my film, I wiould probably go with Fujifilm who will charge you 10 pounds to dev, print and scan to CD - investigation may find you can get it cheaper. And absolute without question I would get it developed.

120 film - it depends on the size of picture the camera takes. It can be as few as 3 or as many as 16 pictures on a roll!

Brownie 44A - uses 127 film but square images so gives 12 per roll.

This firm will process it - but not cheap! There are bound to be others.

In terms of results.... it really depends on the conditions under which the film/camera has been kept. If in fairly stable conditions with no temperature or humidity extremes, then results should be reasonable. If not, it's anyone's guess
