Is it just me, or has the online appointments page been down for days? I'm waiting for an exam date and really would like to find out sooner rather than later...

I've found that it tends to be unreliable in the early evening, which corresponds to emails being sent out at the end of the day notifying people that their dates are available.

I've found it a bit hit and miss - it has been very slow to load at times and in some cases the page did not load. The page was definitely down for maintenance at the weekend but does seem to be back now. If you can try another computer that may help - my net book struggles to open the page at all but it seems Ok on my desk top. It is frustrating when waiting for a date though so I share your pain!

No - I can log in and see all the other pages (past results, entry forms etc) but I can't view submitted entries & appointments...

It worked for me a few minutes ago (still no date though), but I agree it has been slow to load / a bit difficult to access once or twice. Earlier in the week I was away and was using a different connection, and I put the difference down to my location, but of course it may not have been.

Yep - once logged in I get the page with my own entry on it. So can't see that this will work - at least it seems it shouldn't! I'll pm you

Yes - but that's a logged-in page - so other than the previous page (which is the log-in one, which you didn't need) I can't see what link to post that would help. Anyone?

Probably best you remove that link - interesting that it worked though!

I'd go with b-c's suggestion - go to your internet options and delete all cookies, which means you'll need to re-input credentials, but it might fix it.

But it doesn't work - and it doesn't look like the other addresses...

Nor for me! I have found it difficult and slow to load quite a few times, and sometimes it doesn't load at all.

Still no joy here either. Am mightily hacked off and going to bed in a huff....

How frustrating is this! I've just received (yes, on Sunday afternoon) an email from AB saying my appointments are online.

But, I can't get the appointments page to load. Arrgh!

Now I'm all worried.

I EVENTUALLY got the page to load yesterday evening.

I got my exam date today - and it's exactly the one I wanted! Lucky me!!

Gosh, that's encouraging! you seem to be in the minority this session. Still waiting for my date.

My appointment page always loads ok, but I'm really frustrated with having no date yet. Asked for final week and I'm assuming I've got it, but for the first time I let parents know we'd be notified between June6-8th. Now I have frustrated parents too!!

Are there others out there waiting for a date in the final week that haven't been notified? Every now and then I panic and think, perhaps I simply saved the entries and forgot to actually enter them - aghhhh

Yes - I know what you mean. I'm in the same boat. I told parents I would have appointments during half term week (that was last week). I still have no clue.

I'm assuming no news is good news - but you do keep wondering!

I was on the phone to them today, trying to get a rearrangement - the final week definitely hasn't been finalised yet!

I have the email from them saying the appointments are available to view - but the website just hangs when I try to look! I also didn't have the opportunity to click the box that says I want postal notification as well as the system crashed when I booked the exams - in total my payment was taken 6 times from my credit card! All in all, the whole experience has been less than satisfactory this time around!

I was quite surprised to get my exam results last night, 2 weeks to the day since the special visit. I wasn't holding out much hope of getting them but that was a nice surprise, plus managed to log on fine to the site to view results.

The site is down again (for me) and I still haven't got my date let's hope they are updating it ready for tomorrow...

I had my email notification yesterday and have been trying to access the site with no luck. Tried about an hour ago as well with no luck.

Then...hurrah...the site is back on again! I have my dates through.

I am still waiting for my date for one pupil who wanted the last week beg 9 July so I know at least he definitely has that week!

Thank you all for posting as I would have been really really panicking if the site had misbehaved the way it has and I didn't know why!

The website is still unavailable (to me) but I have now received notification of my date (3rd July) by post. Nothing online or by email yet...

All this trouble everyone is having makes me really grateful my lot have taken a term off from AB exams!

Yes, I agree. I now put most of mine in for Easter exams. I have just 2 separate entries of 1 person each for this session and am very grateful for that. I wonder why there are all these problems? (I have tried several times to get into the appointments site and have only succeeded a handful of times.)


Update: Just received my second exam entry date online for 3rd July. Took a while to get through to the website after I received the email, but very pleased.

As I've said elsewhere, my hunch is that it's as a result of the new(ish) regulation that Applicants can no longer reorganise the times of their Candidates without contacting the Board, combined with this being the busiest term.

I'm starting to wonder whether we'll get to the point where some candidates just don't get appointments at all.

Is anyone still waiting for weeks 4 or 5 ?

That would be awful for the poor candidates.


I got my date on Monday - for July 2nd, which is in the week I asked for. I am so relieved that I don't have to try to contact the board in any way (I was half expecting exam clashes etc, but thankfully everyone is fine with their times.)

I agree with Czerny that the problem could be to do with the new system. I really don't understand the logic behind it at all!

I have been trying to work out who benefits, or what the point is.

I remember some did contact the board for some clarification, and it still wasn't obvious why it was an improvement.

DoM at one of my schools has been getting a constantly engaged tone. We got our requested dates but had wanted one full day followed by a half day.....instead we got a half day followed by a full day (sports day - loud speakers/crazy children anyone?!).

DoM emailed and has just had an email response tersely saying the matter is being looked into....

I think we're all wondering the same thing. I told my OH about it yesterday (he is involved with exams at University level) and he suggested that perhaps there have been some instances where teachers have changed the order of their pupils and the examiner has become confused about who he/she was examining. I suppose if this re-arranging of slots has been happening a lot, the board felt they should bring in stricter rules.

I'm still waiting for 2 dates, and it says on the website that all notifications should be sent by 14.6... i.e. today. It's now 5.30 and I haven'y heard anything. Is anyone else in the same position?!

I predicted back in October that there would be a deluge of calls.

I'm waiting for one appointment (no requested week) but mine says they've got until 15th June for dealing with the last week (and no doubt, they'd argue that's only a guideline and they only have to give a minimum of two weeks notice).

As I said in an earlier post, I actually had notification on Sunday evening, so someone was on duty toiling away on Sunday afternoon.

I've just checked online and they've changed the notification date to tomorrow...hopefully they'll come through then. My phone keeps ringing from parents demanding to know why I haven't told them the dates yet! Not my fault!

I've just had to withdraw a candidate for the first week in July. Knowing the scarcity of appointments this year, I've tried to let them know by email as well as post, and received an automated reply saying that emails are taking up to ten days to be dealt with. It's not surprising that they can't offer alternative times if we can't tell them when one becomes free - and I know another teacher who would have been able to use that slot and free up one the next day.
