Because my nearest team is Tranmere Rovers, but I work at my company in Leeds some days , I am desparately hoping Tranmere can manage promotion, and thus change places with Leeds, who will surely get relegated. Some of my colleagues are Leeds supporters.
OK you'll call me a hypocrite as Im Yorkshire born, but against my colleagues I will support Tranmere to wind them up !
Actually if the truth be known , the first team I was taken to watch in 1958-9 when I was 11 was Burnley. We nipped over the Pennines from Keighley by coach as we didnt have a car.
Who won the then DIV 1 that year. Burnley of course.

Shame Plymouth are out of the FA Cup, but well done to Watford

Really hope Chelsea get Man Utd in the next round. Could give Watford a really good chance of going to Wembley, considering they beat Blackburn at Vicarage Road earlier this season.
My predictions are usually wrong, so it is probably very unlikely that this will happen...

AAArrghh! Spent last Friday night standing in freezing cold weather watching Cork City get beaten 1-0 by Waterford United in one of the dullest matches I've ever seen! Aaarrrghhh again!!
Hoping for better luck in the Setanta Cup against St. Pat's tonight in Turner's Cross (no travelling involved for this one

Wonder if it will be a comfortable title win for Derry City this season.

Car ExpertHmmm, don't know about that. Bohemians and Drogheda are favourites for a lot of people, simply because they've both got enough cash at the moment to buy whoever/whatever they want. Derry are usually there or thereabouts, and in my humble opinion, have probably been the best footballing side in the league over the past few seasons.
Kevin Doyle - aaaah, one of my fondest memories is of standing in the Shed End (now demolished) and Doyle celebrating in front of the crowd there after scoring a goal at that end of the pitch (fair brings a tear to my eye

). Which is not to mention Shane Long or Alan Bennett, both now at Reading. Hope Bennett does well for Reading

The final score was 4-3. Rooney scored 2 goals, Wes Brown scored 1, and Ronaldo scored another.
Diouf scored two goals, including a very clever penalty late on, and Malouda scored the other. A penalty was also missed by Ibrahimovic.
Southend have climbed out of the drop zone - hope they stay up.

Well, maybe it wasn't that exciting.
Basically in this one minute, Leeds scored, and then Leicester equalised. And it ended that way! Apparently it was very boring otherwise. Might as well have just played for one minute.

2-2 is an OK result, but Wigan have won again, and the relegation trapdoor has opened just a little more.....

But Wigan did beat Man City, to give you another target team.

True. And we still have to play Wigan, Man City and Sheffield United.
But Man City have played two games less. Now, not wishing ill fortune on another team......
Man City have wasted one of their games in hand.

Was that the same Man Utd that surrendered so tamely against Portsmouth????
Car Expert
Apr 11 2007, 08:19 PM
It certainly wasn't...

It was funny because during the 2nd half of the game, I was watching Monday's MOTD that I taped, and every time I switched back to check what the score was, Man Utd had scored, so I didn't see any of the 2nd half goals (apart from the Roma one) until the end of the game.
Even though they've got Man City coming up, I still think they'll win the title. The gap is effectively 4 points, so they can afford to lose just one game even if Chelsea win the rest of their games.
And Chelsea have still got to travel to The Emirates Stadium...

Pity Scotland won't be able to repeat 1967 at the first game though. There was a story a while ago about a vote for naming one of the walkways and the Tartan Army flooded it with votes for one of the 67 team. Does anyone know if they got it through?

Just worked it out... the maximum number of points Leeds and Southend can get is 54 (which is where Ipswich are), so 2 wins should realistically guarantee Championship football for Leicester next season.
