We're getting towards an important few days for both England and Scotland.

Do you think either or both of them'll qualify for Euro 2008?
Car Expert
England probably won't. Scotland have got a really good chance - hope they qualify.

Car Expert
Car Expert
Well England have beaten Austria, but now Michael Owen will miss the Croatia game...rolleyes.gif

Car Expert
Scotland haven't done it sad.gif

What has to happen for England to go through?
Car Expert
If Israel win against Russia (which they are at the moment), England will only need to draw against Croatia to go through. Any other result for Israel and England will need to beat Croatia (assuming that Russia will beat Andorra). If Croatia lose against Macedonia tonight and Israel fail to win, England will need to beat Croatia by a 3-goal margin to go ahead of Croatia based on their head-to-head record and will qualify with Russia.

EDIT: And just as I say that, Russia equalise...

Car Expert

OK...*thinks she gets it*

Thanks...

Gutted....absolutely gutted. sad.gif

Stupid linesman and ref. sad.gif

Looks like Steve McClaren is about to be sacked.

A joke doing the rounds now goes something like:

What's the difference between the FA and Lewis Hamilton?

Lewis Hamilton is sticking with McClaren.

LooneyTunes
The phrase "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" springs to mind again.

On a positive note, at least we are spared the agony of watching England lose in a penalty shoot-out! laugh.gif
jod
Given the way they've been playing recently they just didn't deserve it.

So McLaren looks like he's going to be sacked.

Football is a team game not a game where a bunch of Primo uomos and their WAGS strut their stuff. Whem my great uncle chas RIP played for Spurs there was no money in it and they played as a team. England produces great players. Unfortunatley they are over paid and all say "look how great I am" rather tahn working with the other 10 men on the pitch to win the game.

Hello, Barry..

Last night when I was driving in town, I saw a Charlton sticker in the back of a car!! Good to know you are not alone! biggrin.gif

**Unless you were in my neck of the woods last night, of course!**

Rumour has it that the FA are considering any candidate who meets the following criteria:

1. Has seen at least 45 minutes of live football in the last three years
2. Knows what 4-5-1 is
3. Will contribute to the umbrella fund set up in 1962
4. Has experience of Championship manager, preferably on PC

ooo look, promotion competition!!!!

Charlton won yesterday at Preston - which means West Brom will have to avoid defeat against Wolves to get second place back from us...

Interesting draw for England - let's hope they do better against Croatia this time round...
fsharpminor
My two nearest teams Tranmere Rovers and Chester City were doing really well after first few games, apart form Tranmeres loss to leeds. Now they are both slipping down the leagues a bit.

As far as the England job goes, I'd like to see Harry Redknapp give it a go.
Miss Ross
Ross County won on Saturday! party1.gif

5 wins out of 5 for Man Utd after a late goal against Sporting Lisbon.

Charlton lose 3-0 at home to Sheffield United, while Norwich win 3-1 away at Blackpool

Leyton Orient are winning 3-2 in extra-time in their FA Cup replay at Bristol Rovers despite being down to 9 men...mellow.gif

EDIT: And Orient lose 6-5 on penalties...dry.gif

Horsham YMCA managed to hold off Swansea for 40 minutes before they scored (considering Horsham have only had 26% of the possession so far).

Wonder how many non-league sides will make it to the third round of the FA Cup. Hopefully more than one!

Willing to guess Staines have a decent chance of unseating Peterborough... smile.gif

I think Torquay, Forest Green and Burton Albion have a good chance.

Harrogate Railway may shock Mansfield (Mansfield have yet to win away this season) - their cup run may have been tempted by their first victory against Esh Winning laugh.gif

3-1. Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!

Reading drew 1-1 argh.gif

The shock of the FA Cup 2nd round belongs to Havant & Waterlooville, after winning 1-0 at Notts County. A local derby against Portsmouth would be a good tie for them in the next round.

Waterlooville is just the best place name ever biggrin.gif
