Yes, but so do we sad.gif angry.gif sad.gif - and you're 6 points above the drop with a good goal difference whereas we're 3 points from safety with an absolutely appalling goal difference (and so are really 4 points from safety and dependent on other teams results going our way as well as us winning highly unlikey games...). sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

You're already safe, CC. smile.gif It doesn't matter if you lose to ManU and Arsenal (except for pride, of course). smile.gif

Thanks CC. smile.gif It looks like an absolutely impossible mountain to climb at the moment, but I haven't completely given up hope yet.

I thought a few weeks ago that it was going to be you, us and the baggies for the drop - but Portsmouth have picked up no end and I'd be amazed if you go down now. smile.gif

If we go down, Newcastle going down too would be great laugh.gif Especially because I can then laugh at Mark Viduka blush.gif

LEEDS 3 TRANMERE 1 cost me a tenner with a colleague.

As its is now less likely we will make the play offs, we will probably be playing CHARLTON next season !! It would be great to pass them in the opposite direction though biggrin.gif
barry-clari
Charlton drew 2-2 with Cardiff last night, which guarantees Charlton will finish bottom of the league sad.gif
fsharpminor
Scunthorpe only drew last night so Tranmere still have a play-off possibility. One point ahead of Scunthorpe, who have a match in hand. We may yet not play Charlton next season !

A loss for us yesterday...but hey, that was expected really! Though from what I heard on the radio, we played ok considering how we have been playing in recent times, which is good news! Lets see what Saturday brings...Alan Shearer has been at Fratton Park a few times to watch us play in the last few weeks, which worries me a bit, but hey, we're up for the fight as much as they are!! biggrin.gif

With Reading not playing until Monday, funnily enough I'll be supporting Preston and Swansea today and hoping they pick up points against Birmingham and Sheff Utd respectively to keep our slim automatic promotion hopes alive for a couple of days at least.

With Forest getting a draw at Blackpool, if Barnsley win against Wolves, Norwich will go into our game needing a win to survive...

Well, I'm going to be a honourary Liverpool supporter today (would be very bad for Boro is Hull get any points), an honourary Wigan supporter tomorrow (don't want Blackburn getting points) and then will be a Portsmouth supporter on Monday because Boro really do need them to beat Newcastle if we're to have any hope of staying up. tongue.gif

I will of course be a Boro supporter tomorrow and am hoping that we will by some miracle get points off Arsenal. wink.gif

Hooray for honorary Pompey supporters biggrin.gif hehehe
And as a full-time "Pompey till I die" supporter I feel it is my place to mention that Southampton are going down smile.gif although I do feel kinda bad for them, and have some very very disappointed friends, which isn't so good!

Pleased that West Brom won...means that Sunderland don't over take us in the table biggrin.gif
Also pleased Liverpool won (which is unusual for me haha) for both Pompey and fellow forum Boro supporters smile.gif
And have just realised a Pompey win on Monday could take us 12th?!?! Or have I just read the table totally wrong?!

Eee. I'm not sure I like West Brom having won - they're only 3 points behind us now and have a much easier run-in. sad.gif

West Brom have no chance of staying up. They can only get to 40 points now, and assuming they won't get anything at Tottenham or against Liverpool, that'll be 34 points if they win their other remaining games (which is where Hull in 17th are now).

Not as nervous as I am about Boro. sad.gif

Pompey are already safe, Chev. smile.gif You're 7 points above the relegation zone with a better goal difference than those below you. We won't catch you, and I'd be suprised if Hull, Newcastle, Sunderland or West Brom did either. I wouldn't be suprised if the safety mark is around 35-36 points this year, and you've already got 38 - which is smile.gif for you but sad.gif sad.gif for us. sad.gif

Pompey won't be relegated, agree.

It'll be three from West Brom, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Hull, Sunderland, I feel.

I notice the Boro game is the early kickoff today...
Car Expert
The safety line at the moment is 43 points, so all the teams in the bottom half aren't mathematically safe yet. If Middlesbrough and Newcastle both lose, that'll be reduced to 40 points, so Wigan, Stoke, Bolton and Portsmouth can secure survival this weekend.

But yes, I agree with Barry, it'll realistically be 3 of those 5 teams. Mind you West Brom in my opinion are all but relegated as I said before, barring any shock results. Well they're bound to go down as Wolves are going up tongue.gif

Oh, I agree the chances of us being relegated are fairly minimal...but we still aren't guaranteed certainty of staying up yet either...we're still replying on actually performing well, and on other teams results...but I'm hoping that even if we get thrashed this afternoon, we'll at least play well enough for an interesting match lol smile.gif
