I was hoping that we'd stay unbeaten for longer than Newcastle.
Deserved to lose.

We are now without a win in 5 matches, which is pretty rubbish despite our current league position.

Derby and then Southampton next, so I doubt if points will be very forthcoming...

Boro have by all accounts had a good start to the season. The thing that really worries me about them though is that I fear many rivals have now worked them out : and it seems as though it's very easy to stop them scoring. Which means, not withstanding a fine defence, that you'll be struggling for goals...
Haven't mentioned yet that Charlton also suffered their first league defeat on Saturday. One of those days, really, we played OK, but Stevenage scored, and we didn't. Hopefully we'll defeat Carlisle on Saturday...

Hmm. I like Carlisle.
The other teams sussed us out a while ago, and Steve Cotterill had already had a match against us. The problem isn't really teams stopping us scoring goals - we don't really have players who can score them in the first place.

Edit: We deserved to lose a game as we really haven't been playing well the past few games and it will hopefully give the team a bit of a wake-up call. I'm more cross about who we lost to... there are 4 teams who I dislike with a passion...

I think what these owners fail to get is that a US style franchise system won't work here : it will sanitise the whole league, meaning many of the lesser lights in the Premiership in particular will quite possibly get less money from things like gate receipts then they do now.
And that's before we get to having no representation in the current league from large swathes of the UK (notably Yorkshire and the south coast of England)...

I could be wrong, but I think he's safer than Bruce and Kean. Blackburn's owners want to buy instant success, and I'm surprised that Kean has lasted this long in the post. Living in a Mackem area, I can tell you that their current hostility towards Bruce is
