Why would you dissapoint anyone if you don't get the grades that you hope for? I am positive that you will get the grades that you need, and if you don't, well sort it out when it comes to it. You can't fix what isn't broken, and at the moment your future isn't. Wait for your results. There is no point in worrying over something yu can do nothing about. Good luck though. I am sure that you will get even better results than you could have ever dreamed of!

I have a question, and no offence meant, but why do so many people get put into their GCSEs early? I know 4 people who did their GCSE french early because they were bilingual, and in 1 case french was her first language, english her second, and I can understand why they'd do their exam 1 year or even 2 years early. But are you just super brainy at maths, or did you have to work for it? Did it feel rushed, or easy? What are you gonna do next year? And I guess Japanese is coz you are Japanese/relatives are Japanese?
Just curious, and I'm not having a go!

My brother has done 3 GCSEs this year, and he is in year 9. He did RE, French and Art. For French and RE, the top set in those subjects had to do the course, and so it seemed stupid not to do the exam. For Art, he got chosen to do it. The school he is at, the headmaster wants the school to look good, in my county in England, you change schools at the end of year 9 (so you do years 1-6 at one school, 7-9 at another and 10-13 at another). A disadvantage is, if you enjoy the subject which you have taken early you can't do it when you get into year 10 so it limits your choices. Oh, and my brother, he is bright, but more towards Maths and Science rather than Languages, although is he still predicted an A for it. It is going to be interesting on results day - he did the same course I did....

God that must be weird! What I like about me and my brother is that we're good at different things, so we don't compete with each other that way. We do about who gets into the bathroom first, fight for it and I always loose, sort of competiveness though lol!
He's good at sport, I'm not. He's good at science and maths, I'm not. I'm good at music and he knows he'll never beat me on that, and I'm better at languages than him. I think it's great we do different things, means we've got lots to talk about!

Well with me and my brother, he is great at Maths, I'm ok, I am good at sport, he is too, but doesn't join a club or anything so it isn't measured, I am better at music, and he gets jealous because he thinks my parents are just giving me money to spend on flute stuff. But with languages...he is good, but I don't know. It is going to be horrible though on results day if one of us does so much better than the other.

I ended up taking Maths in November of Year 11 (when the retakes are on). We would have taken it a year early but our school hadn't yet got its head around the coursework. I ended up with an A* and never really had to work for it, so it made sense to take it early. Provided you're going to get a top grade, the more GCSEs you can get out of the way before you have to take them, the better.
And 17 days to go.

Thanks. Our school is a specialist maths/science college though, so 1/3 of the year took it early. The rest of the time was spent beginning the AS course and we had some odd little exam at the end to check we'd learnt something.

Yeah, I took Japanese because I am Japanese, and it's pips... most of the questions are like, matching a picture of a fork to its word.

And the listening tape is so tedious... they read everything about 1/8 of the normal speed. I guess that's how GCSE listening must be like to French people taking French etc.
14 people out of 180 students in my school took their Maths early (in my school, Maths is the only subject that allows early enries). I felt a bit stressed doing my Maths, because my teacher was lousy... but Maths had always been my best subject and I got on all right without doing too much work. I'm the type of person to work their socks off even if I know that I'll do well, so I did a lot of preparation for it. I think it's a good thing to do GCSEs early, providing you can get a good grade, because it just gets it out of the way. From September, I'll be starting an AS module or something. That's good because I'm going to take A Level Maths anyway.

Don't let it panic you... I got one of those, too, and I got ABBD when I only needed BBB even for my first choice. I thought it was rather mean actually - considering the unis find out your results sooner than you do, if you get a letter about clearing it makes you think "I MUST have failed" which is an awful thing to do to anybody!
