i have a digital piano and a violin and i usually lean my violin on the corner of the piano. just recently, i heard a buzzing noise when i played a certain note on the piano. i first thought it was the piano going wonky so i just left to see if it would get better. the next time i played, i discovered that it was a different note that buzzed so i followed the noise and it didn't seem to be coming from the speakers, it was nearer the violin and i was really surprised by that. i took the violin away and the buzzing noise stopped. do any of you's know what is going on?

I think its due to resonance effect. The natural frequency of the violin or its string is close to certain pitch on the piano, so when that note on the piano is sounded, resonance kicks in, and the close frequency difference between the note of the piano and the natural frequency of the violin or its string ( i think it's called beats, can't remember my high school physics that well anymore) results in the buzzing sound.

Resonance is "a system responding at maximum amplitude due to an external driving force", if i can still remember my physics definition correctly.
