One summer, we had a former student and now honorary daughter staying with us. Kathy was practising, amongst other things, Liszt's Le jeaux d'eaux a la Villa Deste, a piece she played beautifully. Our big ginger tome, Squeak, adored Kathy and spend all her practise time in the music room with her.
After Kathy went back to college, I decided to learn it. Squeak was in his customary position when I sat down to read the formidably difficult first page. After a couple of bars, Squeak stood up, bellowed miaooowwwww in a
very loud voice and stalked from the room.
