My grd 7 flute exam piece is descibed in the syllabus as:
Mozart Flute concerto no 2 in D k.314, 2nd movt adagio ma non troppo.

The copy i have got hold of says:

Mozart Flute concerto in D k.314
The second movement is called Andante non troppo and it doesn't say flute concerto no 2, BUT the two numbers (k.314) are the same.

Have I got the right piece??

I have a feeling this piece is the right one but I can imagine myself going into the exam and then being told i played the wrong piece ad geting nil points!!

Can anyone reassure me/adviseme?

Thank you lots!!

Yes, I'm sure it's the same one. I know the piece as it's one of the things I'm preparing for diploma (along with the first movement which used to be on grade eight when I did mine). You did right to check the K number. Check again to be sure and ask your teacher.

However, Mozart didn't like the flute and only wrote for it when work was commissioned (he cheated and used an oboe concerto, apparently), so there aren't that many Mozart pieces to get it confused with! biggrin.gif

Thank you very much!
Fancy Mozart not liking the flute! You certainly can't tell that from playing the pieces he wrote!
I asked my teacher today and she pretty much said the same as you, so I'm now doubly reassured.

How many pieces do you prepare for a diploma then? Is there a syllabus, or is it at your discretion as to which pieces you choose?
