Oh dear! VN asked me a while back whether there's anyone on the forum who is 13 and under? From this poll, it looks like it's zero. There is no one in the 2 local orchestras where we live nor in her 2 current orchestras (elsewhere) who are of primary school age or under 13 and can play duets with her, especially during the school holidays? Basically, I'm searching for kids to play live duets with her be it piano, cello or violin at her range/level (working towards grades 4 to 6) but it seems to us that they are all year 10 and above? Odd.

If anyone on the forum knows of a child who may be interested, please PM or e-mail me. Thanks a million!!!

VN would have got on with me really well when I was her age, but I'm afraid that isn't much help now (I would definitely have been playing 2nd violin though! )

VN IS second violinist in the youth/sec sch orchestra! First violinist in the strings orchestra. So she'd have been exactly like you, Sarah! CPPF, she'll be 9 on Oct 20.

When I was 9... *thinks* that would have been 18 years ago Scary! I had just got a merit in grade 2 according to the mark sheets I found a few weeks back (did that in '87)

Well if I was 18 years or even a bit less younger and lived less far away I'd definitely play duets with you, VN! Maybe we could play some duets for fun in during the practice to a forum concert sometime if your mum can bring you to one that I'll be at!... (I don't fancy playing my violin in front of everyone but I don't think I'd mind you listening to us playing duets Tess: she'll probably outplay me by then *grin* if she doesn't mind playing with an oldie!)

I'd play with VN...apart from I am 16, play the flute and don't live near London.

Oh dear, this one's a difficult one.....it depends on whether you want me to give the age most people think I look, the age I feel, the number of birthdays I've had or something else entirely.

This summer someone asked me if I was still at school . Last week at choir someone asked me if I'd taken early retirement ..........

All very difficult.

I have to add that, like katyjay, my chronological age and mental age aren't the same! 28 and somewhere around 16.

Hehe. VN was due on Paganini's birthday (27 Oct) but everyone told me it's common for the 1st baby to arrive a week late! November. But she came a week early! She said something like this a while back, "Thank GOD!" "I wouldn't want to be compared with Paganini for life!" Now elliewelly, if your child is late a week, he/she will be born on his birthday. Wow!

I'm having a little girl (we think!!!) and if she is born a week late, she will not only share a birthday with Paganini, but also with her aunt (my husband's sister). Her grandad's is on the 24th. Hmm, this is becoming an expensive month!

Awwww, I hope everything goes ok Ellie, when you've settled with the baby and everything let us know how you both are.
