Full Version: Pupils Say The Nicest Things!

I had a pupil really make my day yesterday. She asked me when I started piano lessons, so I said 'when I was 6.' She thought for a minute and then said - 'so you've been playing for about 20 years'!!!! Oh if only I were still that young!! (Must be the moisturiser I use!! tongue.gif biggrin.gif )
And one of my 8 year-olds came to her lesson yesterday having composed a tune just for me! Aaahh! Moments like these............. smile.gif Wonderful!

What about anyone else - any lovely moments to share - the ones that make teaching really worthwhile, or really make your day? smile.gif (Apologies if there are any other threads like this one!)

One little girl came to her first lesson having drawn a lovely picture for me, of a girl playing the piano. It was copied from a page in "tunes for 10 fingers" (or the next book in the series) but it was really good and I kept it on the wall for about a year.

Another child, taught in school, always leaves her lessons saying "Bye Mrs Jackson, thank you!" and I find that really sweet and polite. A few of them buy me cards and presents at the end of the school year and at Christmas, or after passing an exam, and a couple even know when my birthday is and remember it. All very unexpected and humbling!

This is a nice thread.

I've always bought my piano teacher a card and a present at christmas. Even though I stopped having formal lessons with her a few years ago now, I still make the effort to arrange to meet up with her.

One of my students, a girl studying for Grade 8, left for uni at the beginning of this term. Before she left, she travelled over 20 miles to bring me a wonderful bouquet of flowers and a card which read 'Thank you for being the best teacher. You were more than I could have wished for.' Brings tears to your eyes smile.gif
