I'm a very very new learner, and am starting my way on acoustic. I have nailed a few cords now and am working on exercises and even a simple strum along to 'Maggie May' by Rod Stewart.

Do any of you out there with experance have any general tips. At present this is for pleasure, so tips for struming or key chords would help no end. I have books chord cards and some good friends who all play far better then me. However I want to be able to help myself rather then take on a teacher full time or pester my friends with lots of silly starters questions.

Again I'm very new to this, and am not thinking about Grades for at least 9(nine) or 10(ten) months.

Thanks in advance.

Hi andrew

sorry bout the last post it went funnyon me! anyway, i've been playing a few chords on the guitar for a while now, im finding it quite straight forward, but would be interested to know how your getting on? I dont have a teacher also, have been looking at books and cards and that. I recommend a book tho which contains pics of how the chords should be played. thats made it a bit easier for me!
