I've played my cello in several different spaces with very different acoustics. Small room + carpets = ugh , dead as a doornail; large room + wooden floors = super resonance, wow! .

Obviously, what you put in needs to change for each acoustical environment. What do you do in these varying circumstances?

I try to make the best of it. Rarely possible to do anything when playing among others. Just another in a string of things that one must tame in music.
