I am preparing the theory 5 exam by myself and have been going through past papers. I have to mark the papers by myself. But I am really worry about that my marking will be inaccurate. I think mark schemes should be available and I don't know where can I get them.

Does anyone know of any good theory practice/exercise books that I can buy which have the answers in too? At least that way I could check my own.

Actually I learnt theory in Chinese many years before. It is difficult to describe everything in English.

Eg: There is a kind of question in the past paper: Name one similarity and one difference between bars 1 and 5. In Chinese the situation of the notes in the two bars is called 模进----same rhythm and different pitch. I do not know how to answer this question. Just only two words, two sentences or other ways?

If YOU can help me please add post.

Thank you! @_@

That should be fine - your one similarity is that the rhythm is exactly the same...the difference is that the second passage is X notes higher/lower than the first.

'Theory Time' books have answers in them.

When comparing two bars, differences may be
* rhythm,
* pitch
* dynamics
* notes
* articulation

You only have to name one, but sometimes they are easier to spot than others.

Welcome to the forums and good luck with grade 5 theory! Give us a shoult if you need any more help!!
