Hi Pianist 1210
For Trinity diplomas there isn't a merit. You pass if you get over 50% and you get a distinction if you get over 75%.
This is a change to the marking system they used to have, where a pass was 70% and a distinction 90%.
However, the standard required to get 50% in the new mark scheme is the same as the standard required to get 70% on the old one. And the standard required for 90% on the old scheme is the same as the standard required for 75% on the new one.
Cheers

FYI, there wasn't a distinction category for Trinity diplomas when the pass mark used to be 70%. I scored 92% for my LTCL in 2000 and the certificate I'd received was the standard one issued to all successful candidates at that level. The 90% requirement for distinction applies only to Trinity's Performer's Certificate (post-Grade 8/pre-diploma) and First Concert Certificate exams.
