Thanks for your response to my post, crazy purple piano freak. I've not been on for a while so have just caught up with the thread - been accompanying all week. I'd love to take Grade 8 next summer. I'm having a break at the moment as my teacher is taking her LRSM and hasn't had a chance to look at these alternative pieces. I'd love to do the Poulenc but it ain't easy ! The Mozart is shaping up and so is the Scarlatti, so I may well opt for Crocus although I bet lots of people will choose that one. wink.gif

For my Grade 6, I'm doing Allegro, Vals Poetico and Prayer of the Matador... but recently, I'm getting a bit tired of the first two. I've been looking at Corant and Einsamer Wanderer, and I like the latter two much more. I'm planning to take the exam at Easter... so it might be too late to change it now though....

I chose the same pieces as you (Allegro and Vals Poetico)... and had a lot of fun, especially with the first. How can Allegro get boring? ph34r.gif But Corant is really beautiful as well... for me it was between those two. biggrin.gif

Right now I'm just trying to learn my grade 7 pieces... randomly trying them out. Haven't even chosen yet! rolleyes.gif
