Pfft... aural.. I can sing a bit... so sightsinging is a doddle, but I will like to here the examiner sing the bass part- HOW on earth am I meant to go down to the E below middle c?!?!?! my teacher tells me that they'll find one at my pitch, but i never knew examiners are phychic...
Worse, i repeat WORSE!!! of all of that.. it listening to music with understanding. Would somebody please be so kind to list or tell me a bit to what i need to know? My teacher (who waffles on) goes on about dances, but Im not sure if thats important?

Bass part- sing it up and octave..or 2..depending on the pitch

Listening to a piece of music- comment on anything, time sigs, dyanmics, tempo, possible period of composition, possible composer, any interesting techniques such as imitation, syncopation, etc

Well it might be worth knowing a bit about them because if the piece you get played is a dance of some sort then you could comment on it..but I wouldn't go over board on learning them

Don't have sleepless nights over aural tests! They aren't worth it

Ah so am I...I can't do any aural but still managed to pass grade 8 aural..so if I can..you'll be fine with grade 7!

Try buying " Sound Wise" aural test cassette - grade 7 ( available in every grade) also " Aural Time!" book, grade 7 by David Turnbull. Don't recommend the c.d that goes with this though as it doesn't give the answers whereas the tape I mentioned above does. Both helped me a lot.
