Courtney Pine, although excellent, is just one sax player amongst many other wonderful players - have you heard Andy Sheppard? Or listened to all the past greats?
Holgate
Excellent at what he does although it's not the kind of Jazz music I like.

What sort of Jazz do you like, Holgate? I think you are following the grade1 syallabus, am I right? What are your favourite pieces from the CD?

I guess I like the traditional / standards end of the spectrum myself...

Download some Dave Koz. If you like it, then I've got a whole list of things you'll like. If you don't like it, then I'm stuck.

I have to admit I am more into the Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong and Glenn Miller age of Jazz rather than the late 20th Century form. Nothing wrong with it excellent within it's own right just personal preference.

Yep I am following the Grade One at the moment and to be honest I haven't really established favourites yet although I have got Mack the Knife off to a pretty good art and gradually getting there with Jumpin' At The Woodside.

Always takes me longer to learn pieces because I can't read music and can only play pieces after listening to them for a number of time. With me it's all experimental in learning a piece, but it feels good when I finally get it right.
