I have tried everywhere... I have yet to see any music written with the sostenuto and/or soft pedal. The only pedal studies book I have or can get hold of is by Angela Diller and Elisabeth Quaile.

Can anyone recommend anything?

well........my teacher taught me the sustain pedal by just playing scales.

Very slowly, one note at a time, and i had to lift at the right time to make a clear sound. From then on, we just integrated it into the pieces. That must have been at about grade 3 ish level.
