Hello All!
My clarinet teacher has bought a clarinet off Ebay, a Buffet C12 (very similar to Buffet E13, only the C12 is more designed for someone envisaging a professional career) I know they aren't sold in Britain anymore, and I'm looking for some information on them (other than the info on the Buffet-Crampon website).
Does anyone have one/had one? If so can you give your view on it.
He got it quite cheap I think, he'll have it serviced and see what it's like and if it's ok he's willing to sell it to me.
Thanks in advance

I haven't heard of a C12, and I don't remember him buying clarinets off ebay from my time with him.
How was the exam anyway?

Neil, I'm quite sure he got one of his R13'S off Ebay

The exam went well
Here's a link to the page for the E13 and C12.
Buffet Crampon E13 and C12Have you heard of the E13? They're both very similar, so any info on the E13 would help as well.

Yes I've heard of E13. They're meant to be between B12 and R13. Haven't played one though, but I think I've seen someone play them.

You could go to www.woodwind.org and do a search. Otherwise just ask on their forum. The people on that forum know EVERYTHING about clarinets.
Oh, and you get to chat with Tony Pay as well!

E13's are supposed to be between the E11 and the R13

I've got a B12 and I love it. The E11 is the next model up, less expensive than the E13 and R13. I don't think you can go far wrong with any of the clarinets in the Buffet range but I've never heard of a C12.

I've heard of the C12 and seen a couple on ebay - supposed to be reasonable instruments - in between E13 and R13. I've played both E13 and R13 instruments and they are good clarinets. Personally if upgrading from a B12 I would go straight for an R13 as you'll never need to upgrade again.

C12 is a new one on me, but the Buffet website states that it's equivalent-ish to an E13, so your teacher may well have got a bargain.
My A is an E13 (best I could afford at sixth-form college, and the nearest equivalent to my Emperor). It's a nice instrument, but I still prefer my Bb Emperor.
Maybe one day I'll be rich enough to consider a pair of Peter Eatons...
