Can someone tell me what the piano is doing at bars 28-31 inc and 36-39 inc is doing please? Also, I know that it is a syncopated um-chink-chink thing, but what is the exact rhythm? The syncopation was confusing me
The music teacher at my college has the piano part for practicing but keeps telling me that the I am either finishing the trill too early or too late, so for things like this, I write the piano rhythm under what I've got.
Thanks

Hi Helen,
It's boom ching rest ching under each of those bars, where boom is a bass note in octaves and ching is a three-part chord. All quavers.
NB It's not synocopated, and is exactly the same rhythm as all the previous bars.

Sooo does that mean at bar 31 coming off the trill... I will hear the boom ching and then I play the semiquavers?
Sorry, I'm a bit stupid like this.

Yes - you start your semiquavers during the piano's quaver rest.

Then I realised that what is on the first page of the flute part isn't neccessarily on the first page of the score

I know it is - I wouldn't/couldn't have got it at full price but I got it at the reduced price through the ABRSM & justified it by thinking of it as the equivalent of a couple of pieces of music (or several bottles of wine )

I think it went ok. It went better than in the rehearsals timing wise, but the dynamics weren't very good...

Erm... when the teacher gets round to listening to them again and marking them!
