Hard to give answers when we don't know the questions... The answers to these questions depend on applied knowledge... they include things like transposition, harmony, and other general questions.

If you buy the Associated Board Theory Workbooks ( not music theory in practice) they have answers for questions 4 and 5 at the back of the book
These workbooks are only available for Grades 6, 7 and 8.

well, i just don't know how to describe some of the questions which require long answering sentences and giving reasons for the period of the piece!
some of them are quite difficult(e.g. point out the differences between two pharse and about asking the changes like climax and tension etc.) and when i'm working out my answer, some of them maybe wrong. now i'm so confused. i know that when in the exam, write whatever reasons that can be proved. if you can help, i'll rather like to email the question and the year of the paper so that it is easier for me. my email is dennisshiusj@yahoo.com
thanks if you can help!

Sounds as though you are working through some pre 1999 papers if you are having to write long sentences. These are still useful but the format now is sentences with gaps in for you to fill in. I have papers from 1996 to 2001 here so if you are working any of them and want to pm me I will do my best to help if I can.
I still have some problems regarding false relation!
I haven't learn it before from grade 1-7 and until grade 8 i only realised that it was asked.
how to detect the false relation in an extract or in a piece?
and how to differenciate the augmented 6th chords which are German, Italian and French?
again pls help!
thx!

you can actually buy the past paper and answers (sold seperately) in your local music stores. If you are talking about the ABRSM theory in practise book, there's also answers for it published by someone....(which is not assiocated with ABRSM) in HK. Not sure if your local music store have that as well...it's like orange colour and it's quite small (A5 size) for grade 6,7,8. Really useful resources!!
I liked your self-study strategy, I reminds me when I did my grade 6,7 and 8 totally without any guidence, just like you.
