Has anyone had any experiance in dealing with a company/conductor who refuses to give you a chance at roles/gigs that you think that you should at least be given the opportunity to audition for??

Im in a programme for young people and repeatedly not given opportunity's for certain things and been 'pipped at the post' by younger, less mature voices but they have 1 year's more experiance with the programme than I do.

I don't want to be a diva, but is there any polite way to reinforce with a conductor that you are still alive it not be taken as "Divaness"?? If I want to get anywhere in this city this is the only company that I can work with to get there and it would definitely not be wise to get on the wrong side of this conductor.

Any advice much appreciated!!

Maybe just ask if you can have a word with him, and tell him politely that you really want to get more experience and improve, and you would like to at least have to opportunity to have a go at some of the roles. Also perhaps ask him why you're not getting them.
