We are preparing for our Christmas concert at wind band and we always play the Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. Everyone loves it. Has anyone else found themselves playing this at Christmas concerts, or perhaps the tune everywhere.

I have an excellent arrangement for organ by Thomas Trotter. I always play it for the kids' service on Xmas Eve.. seems a bit out of place to give it a whirl at a main service however..

ooooh nice kind mrbouffant
Is it a printed copy or a recording that you have of T.T. playing Sleigh Ride. Can you give me details.....please
I play Sleigh Ride - A couple of years ago I programmed a sequence "special effects track" of sleigh bells, horse's clip-clop and even the whip crack - all available from the sound library on the Technics organ. I'll be using that again in December at an organ concert in Skegness.
Have you noticed how many [cathedral] organ recital programmes now include a piece or two of light music. Sleigh Ride was played at Lincoln Cathedral a few years ago at "christmas service"....went down a storm!!!! and why not?

I have a great version - my younger students love to help with the 'sleigh bells' part!
