I know that Tannie has a Kawai.

But has anyone got one of the Yamaha Silent or Disklavier models.

I'm intersted to know what they sound like (the acoustic side).

While I'm here, has anyone ever had their piano voiced to tone down the brightness?

Therefore I just want to comment on the voicing part.

It is possible to voice the piona to become a bit mellower. But this is not going to make a huge and lasting change/difference... because all that the piano technician can do is to make the woof felt on the hammer less hard... so when it strikes on the strings, it will make a mellower sound.

The soundboard and the plat have more prominent (IMHO) influence on the character of the sound of a piano. Because of that, each piano maker will have a character unique to themselves, and you can't really do much to change your (YAMAHA??) piano.
