Hi... I'm sixteen years old and have only been really singing for a couple years (with various school and church choirs--no formal lessons, really), though unorganized singing has been a part of me as far back as I can remember. I sing tenor, having a comfortable vocal range of about E2-D3 for chest voice and C3-C5 for falsetto, give or take (err?). I'm not entirely sure I know what I'm talking about, but there's a definite break around C3...which I assume to be my falsetto...though I always assumed I was odd for having it so low. Isn't it supposed to be higher?

I find it odd to have such a poor range for a chest voice, and I can't seem to get much volume with my falsetto. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

I think the break that you mentioned is probably the break from your chest voice into your head voice, where it is less powerful, but still not falsetto. You may have another slight break higher up between your head voice and falsetto?

Aah...yes, there is another break...way, way up there...sitting around the A5 or B5 mark...depending on the day. That makes more sense... Any ideas how to better control my falsetto and get more volume with my head voice then??

Thanks for the help!!!

Sincerely,
Ayd.
