Well no, I'm suffering from stress at the moment, due to reivion for AS Subjects, Piano recital in 2 weeks. Exam in 3 weeks. Theory in 3 weeks. [oh god just realised it was 2 days away from my piano exam]. This silly composition [which after 9 hours spent on it, I may change it..] . Manager from work is keeping a close eye on my attandance. oh god sad.gif It's not going great at the moment. I'm staying strong and going to get through this and then get absolutely hammered come August.

Otherwise, everything is perfect thanks for asking =)

thereThere.gif I'm sure you will get through OK. Try to plan what you'll do when and then take it one day at a time; you're bound to panic if you think of everything at once. Your priority has to be the next 2 or 3 weeks, so don't try to do too much revision until you've done your recital and music exams.

And do use the scream thread again - sometimes it can really help!

Worst day ever.

Drove to a friend (20 minutes away) this morning to return some keys. Arrived and discovered I had forgotten them.

The drive home took nearly an hour because of roadworks.

Pranged my car on a tree while parking. Cracked the bumper and dented the hood.

Heard a very LOUD VOICED student who really hates piano telling her mum that she hadn't practised all week and then had to sit through 30 minutes of her telling me "she forgot".

Told her mum I thought that maybe she should allow her to quit and have a feeling that won't work!

Now my cat is shouting at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where's the wine!?!??!!?

I'm feeling too exhausted from being grumpy and miserable and generally doing my best attempt at female hysterics to actually scream.

How do other people cope with trying to be calm and professional when having 'one of those days'? I could really do with finding out.

Went to eldest sons assembly. It was meant to show some of the funnier sides of education and included the joke
Owner to Vet: My rottweiler has cross eyes
Vet: I'm going to have to put him down
Owner: Put down! just for cross eyes?
Vet: No because he's heavy

I challenged the teacher after school as under the circumstances it was insensitive. Apparently elder son had said something about not finding it very funny due to Gandalf being sick, and was told it was only a joke.
I was told off for being over-sensitve as it was only a joke, and how as she to know.

Younger son was also in assembly.

I'd hate to see what the consequences would have been if Wednesday's vet exam had not gone differently. I'd only kept the school office informed incase the children were upset, and updated them when we knew he wasn't put down.

HONESTLY mad.gif mad.gif excl.gif (thats a close to a smiley with steam coming out of its ears as I can find)

I couldn't find my First Steps in Music Theory anywhere, and need it to help my son. I looked everywhere, decided I'd disposed of it and ordered another one, which arrived on Saturday. Last night I found my original, in the piano stool with the other theory stuff - I know I looked there - how could I miss it? It's just a piano stool, not Mary Poppins' carpet bag. Aaaaargh mad.gif

I can imagine - it's rather alarming when such things happen.

I had a driving lesson today and my instructor picked me up from college. There is a nursery at the entrance to the college, and a small unsupervised child held a long plastic spade out through the fence as I drove past. One must always be prepared for hazards!

ARGHH! Stupid choir!

I'm the organist this sunday, so was at choir practise this evening, and the practise was fine, apart from being told off for playing too loudly (The volume was fine!?!?), but they had asked me to bring along the Gloria that is used at my other church to play to them.

As soon as i finished playing, the soprano on the back row said at the top of her voice "I absoloutley hate it, I refuse to sing it, i've never heard anything so awful"!
What a rude thing to do! They didn't have to like it, but she could have politely said she wasn't too keen on it and prefered the current ones! This woman is known for her rude comments though, and has reduced atleast 3 people to tears recently (these people were very stressed and on the edge, but still!), and is very quick to tell everyone her opinion at the top of her voice!
Another member of the choir was also very quick to complain! They are all so frightened of change that they wont give anything a chance!

ARGHH! Stuborn people!

I agree, nobody will ever understand cats.
But also, people don't understand physics either. They merely think they understand it smile.gif

I lived last year with a housemate who subscribed to New Scientist. With all the excitement about the LHC, it was a year in which every man and his dog were knocking out physics theories that it might prove. Most were complete nonsense, so far as I could tell. Or abstracted too far to make sense to anyone. I belive there is a famous quote from some equally famous physicist (Bohr, maybe?) along the lines of "If you think you understand physics, then you're blatently clueless".

Hee hee, I was going to quote Bohr in my last message. What he actually said is: "Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it."
But by extension I think we could paraphrase to "anyone who thinks they understand [insert science subject here] really doesn't" biggrin.gif

I can relate to this.
I've been after a re grade for over a year based on extra duties I was trained for and now do unsupervised. The senior management's bright idea was to relieve me of the duties and give them instead to other (higher grade) staff instead (even though they have not had the training). So, have been passed over again.

I'd love to know how they obtain such highly paid positions whilst being so stupid.

People making stupid comments at school, getting yelled at by all the teachers, having to stay up late to finish the piles of homework they like to set us, all for the next day... just the usual.

"That thing you did is not working properly" they tell me.

Well, for a start, it's two distinct things.

The first one is working exactly as it should, from the library code, with no modifications. Exactly what you asked me to do. You just don't actually understand what the library code is doing and why.

The second one is working exactly as it should. Exactly as you asked me to do. You now seem to think it should be doing something else.

ARGH! Just read things properly and/or specify them properly before you tell me that I haven't done something right (oh, and incidentally, you're the one who tested these and passed the testing; so you must have thought it worked right then!)
