I have a problem (complex) and I'm not sure how to solve it or what to do next.

The person I would like to take advice from is very difficult to get hold of so I could spend a lot of today chasing my tail.
I have a dice thingy (or is it die?) which has two sides 'yes', two sides 'no' and two sides 'maybe'. You wouldn't believe how often I use it to make decisions
Unfortunately it doesn't help in this case.

p.s. I hope everyone is feeling better soon xxx

My main CF bow got damaged during my practice today and I am resigned to the fact I will have to take it in for repair.
Apart from the cost I simpy don't know when I will have time to go to a repair shop.
The bad news is that my spare bow is a cheap £70 bow and I have a lot of musical sessions coming up. really could have done without this!!

Maybe I could have... :S I don't know, I'm on contract, would that matter? My phone at the moment is SIM-free and (please God) unlocked... As far as I know. If it turns out it's locked to a different network already I will be VERY unhappy. I was polite but firm, anyway, and ultimately they dropped the "about a week" thing and said they were sending it "right that second" and it would be here tomorrow. Not sure how true that is, but if they sent it today, it could've caught the post...

My hot water controls and a number of radiators haven't worked for a while now and I've had 4 different plumbers and electricians in to try and sort it out. I want a new bathroom put in on the top floor of my house.
So today I discover that there are 2 dodgy valves on the boiler that must be replaced, a significant leak from the boiler piping that needs fixing, I need a new hot water tank (also leaking and beyond repair), the piping to the bathroom is completely wrong (which explains why I can't get hot water in there when the pump is on downstairs) and basically I'm going to have to move out of my house for a week while it all gets fixed. Great. Just great. And it will cost me a small fortune.
Don't you just love old houses. I hear the same thing every time a workman comes to my house - scratching of head, sucking of teeth, "mmmm, there's something very odd about this wiring / plumbing / brickwork / window frame etc - they didn't do a very good job when they put this in. Of course it can be fixed, but it's going to take a special bracket / joint / valve / fuse / some other expensive and hard to source item......" Screaaaaaaaaaaam.

There has been water seeping out from between my kitchen floor tiles since the weekend

Someone finally came around a couple of hours ago and it turned out the areas around the main suspects (sink, washing machine, dishwasher) are all dry!? So evidently they aren't leaking and I was just told all the tiles need to be taken out

Oh, you have my sympathy. I hate having to deal with house things gone wrong. I especially hate having to deal with things when there isn't an obvious path to the solution e.g. phone plumber, make tea and biscuits, pay large sums of cash and cross fingers.
I have several niggling things that probably could do with putting right at the moment, but thankfully nothing urgent.

this has happened to me before, it's awful isn't it? Hope it gets better for you, but it might not be a bad idea just to speak to one or two of your friends and just ask (non-confrontationally, of course) if there's any reason for it... it may have genuinely just slipped their minds, I know I've had a few awful incidents before where I've arranged to go out with people and just presumed that somebody else had invited said person, and they thought I'd invited them...just have a word with them, hope it all gets sorted

I think they would remember. My friend came online when she realised I would see the pictures (she started a casual conversation, hinting around the question of whether I'd been on facebook lately

).
She just called it "a few drinks" despite the fact that it was clearly a full night of clubbing, and then invited me round to hers for a movie night tomorrow.
I am very confused. I figured she was trying to semi-apologise for excluding me with the movie night, so I tried to start a few conversations, to which she responded really shortly and rudely. Why invite me to your house to watch movies if you don't wish to speak to me? Eurgh!

The trouble with online "conversations" is that you don't know the other person's circumstances. If your friend has been out a lot lately, maybe she was trying to talk to people while she did some work, or trying to talk to too many people at once. If I were you, I'd stop worrying and see what transpires tomorrow night.

. Tomorrow I have been moved to a different room. It occured to me this morning that the students may not have been told. I have the e-mail of one of them so I asked her... And they have not been told
So not only will I have to pick up all the bits and pieces but I will also have to go and put a notice up on the original room telling them where I will be (and the new room is nowhere near the old room and neither of them are near the three different offices that I have to get the equipment from which are not near each other either

On Thursday it snowed here and the Prefet orderd school transport for Friday morning to be cancelled. The children were duly informed. At 6pm when all the children had gone home and I was the only one using the building (for piano lessons) the phone rang. The message was that the transport was maintained after all and would I inform the children concerned.

I stayed in the library from twelve til seven today, despite not being able to focus after about half past four. There was no point in going home, because I'd just have to come back again for Gospel Choir. I went to Gospel Choir, and waited with two other for twenty minutes, before realising one of the guys I was waiting with had the secretary's phone number... so I rang her. It was cancelled. They'd tried to send out an email, but it hadn't worked. Then, they'd sent another one at about 6:30 (for choir at 7).
Not particularly impressed.
Less impressed still to get home and find no email.
*Edit* Even less impressed that I'm on this page twice with separate problems! I should either stop coming here, or try to improve my temper?

I'm trying to decide if its a good thing or not that I'm now so good at
notloosingmytemper, that when people do seriously upset me (e.g. housemates conveniently
forgetting to mention to me that they're hosting a birthday party for someone in my house, and then acting suprised when I wander in to ask whether this was deliberate or not halfway through).
I was completely distraught. Now I'm also furious. But... somehow I just can't show it. I just keep on being nice and (fairly) natural.
Gah, when I start being the kinda person people could treat like
sh*t dirt on a whim?
