Finals...

Hope it's going well for you, Nicki! fingersCrossed.gif

Not had first exam yet...ergh...gosh...don't feel confident.

I'm sure you'll be fine, and that you'll feel better once they've started. BerkshireSon has now done 6 of his 7, so I'd assumed you would have done one or two too; obviously they like to do the finalists last!

Very best of luck when they do start. smile.gif

History is always late with their exams....

I shouldn't be so scared of 7 hours of my life..

It is possible to do well in C4. Maths is by far and a way my weakest subject, but I got an A in it. I had to get an A in the A level to meet my offer for Uni, and to pull this off I ended up resitting C1, C2, C3 and S1, while sitting C4! I got As in all the resits. Amazing what desperation and focused revision can achieve!

Best of luck with you exam, but it sounds like you don't have much to worry about. smile.gif

This isn't really a scream, more of a wail. Had 6 pupils this evening. My nose is feeling the presence of pollen somewhat, although not actually itching, or sneezing.

However, one little bright spark comes for his lesson wearing some beautifully laundered PE kit - but goodness knows what Mum washes it in. Within 10 seconds I was sneezing and have had itchy and sensitive nose all evening now. dry.gif

My OH is so allergic to pollen I cannot line dry clothes because of the pollen getting on it...... Could it be that ??!

No, I'm not that allergic to pollen. And it was a really strong smell - quite pleasant perfume-wise, but it clearly got up my nose in a big way. I've just been out at a coffee morning and smelt the same smell, so I think it must be a washing liquid, but fortunately it was much milder this morning and didn't have the drastic sneezing effect on me. Maybe his mum's hand slipped as she was putting the liquid in the machine! laugh.gif

Supposed to be going to France on choir tour next week, but husband has just announced that 'week off' to look after children in my absence has now been cancelled due to work commitments. Argh. Scream. I am ready to kill.
Maizie
This is not a sensible argh, but still...

Last night I realised the date and realised that a relative-by-marriage has a birthday over the weekend. Quick, find a card. This morning I got the card book out, and didn't have much of a choice.
I did have one really good card...but I also know that this relative-by-marriage is pretty soon no longer to be a relative (due to the impending lack-of-marriage) and birthday cards won't be sent. So I'm thinking do I really want to use up a good card on this person - but still I must send one at the moment for the looks of things (i.e. so it appears I'm not aware of upcoming separation...)

Anyway, I cave and decide that despite this being a really fab card that I'd wanted to send to someone else, it was the only card available so I'd send it.

And I start writing it, "Dear XXXXXX" and then I go 'hang on, isn't this birthday in MARCH, not MAY?'
And I don't have it written down, so I get hold of my brother to check, and he confirms it was indeed in March. But I only realised this once I'd written the name in.

So now I just have to bin it. It's silly to be annoyed by this, but it was a good card and now I can't send it to anyone as I don't know anyone with the same name wink.gif And usually I'd hold on to it for 10 months but I don't think we will be talking to this person by then, probably not on birthday card terms anyway!

Oh Sue, how very disappointing for you. sad.gif Any chance of a grandparent/aunt/friend saving the day?

Husbands' work commitments are the price you pay for a regular salary coming in! Still dreadfully frustrating though.

Could you cut the back off and put it in a frame as a present for someone? smile.gif

Cut out picture that you like very much. Get some white card/whatever colour is best, and a larger envelope. Stick picture on front of card to create new bigger card. Bingo! biggrin.gif

I have hardly eaten or slept for the past week, I've been so busy. I now finally have a free minute, and I have to put off the latter for the former. I didn't bother eating last night, because I was so tired, and ended up being kept awake by hunger pangs. I hope things calm down soon!

QUOTE(cambiata @ May 28 2010, 11:00 PM) *

Okay - here goes - cambiata's Friday - I'm sure it should have been the 13th!

Plumber arrives at 8.30 to fit new cloakroom units and basin and I dash out at 8.50 for an appointment at the beauty salon and I have to rush because I had handbell practice at 9.30. I get to the church and no-one is there so I drive home having wasted two miles worth of petrol. Husband gives message that handbells were cancelled and apologies from person who phoned. Basin and units have not arrived, so made phone call to chase them up. Next door cat then gets into lounge through door left open by plumber and almost impossible to remove cat. Phone call from stepson announcing insurance company is blaming him for a car prang which was not his fault. Plumber announces that end unit is wrong size. Phone back supplier to order another one to arrive in a week's time. Fielding more phone calls from stepson. Plumber starts to swear downstairs. He has cut the wrong size template for the basin. Phone back supplier to order another front panel worth £40 to arrive in a week's time. Plumber pays up. More phone calls from stepson about his pranged car. Plumber then says the front kick panel is too short and we will have to phone back the supplier to order another one. Floor is also ruined because of removal of old pedestal has left an unsightly patch. Husband annouces he wants his dinner because he has to go out. I went out to do a big food shop inbetween the cat and phone calls.

I then gave four piano lessons from 4.00pm until 6.00pm.

What a day......! wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

Bet he was so popular! biggrin.gif

Hope today will be better for you, cambiata

I detest spelling mistakes with a passion-if you're that desperate to use a particular word, go look it up in a dictionary! I accept some people are better spellers than others, but there's really no excuse for bad spelling on the internet...same goes for the whole their/there/they're thing, that drives me up a wall! :anrgy:

I've sort of learned to overlook it, in all honesty. But 'definitely' does annoy me when spelled incorrectly!
Susie
The trouble is that you can't easily correct it on the computer screen. I was a demon with the old red pen - in fact I had to restrain myself sometimes otherwise some pupils' work would have ended up being a mass of red.
